If you look at the bottom of this page, you’ll read that I am an animated films freak. I love animation whether it is a full-length movie or a 15 or 30 minute episodes on TV. Anime or otherwise, I get a high when I see cartoons or animation.
I particularly love those talking objects, talking teapots, tea cups, broomsticks, wall-clocks, saucepans, toys, cars, animals, insects, etc.
A few nights ago, I was flicking through channels and I happen to come across Nickelodeon and Spongebob was on. I love Spongebob Squarepants and the whole caboodle of Bikini Bottom. This particular episode caught my attention though. Spongebob was leaving Bikini Bottom and his friends to live at Jellyfish Fields because he decided that he was going to be a jellyfish. Of course his best friend Patrick was so shocked and heartbroken and tried to stop him along with his other friends but Spongebob couldn’t be stopped. He said, “I am leaving Bikini Bottom to live at the Jellyfish Fields for I have decided to be a jellyfish.”
Upon arrival at the Jellyfish Fields, he was very excited to see all the rows of jellyfishes in formation. Being the friendly sponge that he was, he went to each one and introduced himself, announcing that he has decided to become a jellyfish. Unfortunately, he got stung by each one every time he touched one. But still, he tried to fit in. Ate their food and adjusted and tried to adapt to their ways.
What he did not realize was even if he acted like a jellyfish, he can and never will be one because he is a sponge. Tried as he could he would not fit. He couldn’t eat what they eat. Eventually, he went back to Bikini Bottom and resumed his life, much to the delight of his friends.
